iMac

so, we got a new computer last week. not only was austin's old 17" iMac showing signs of age (over four years old) and struggling to keep up with current design software, but he has become a spoiled little designer since he uses a mac pro and 30" apple display at work. austin was starting to feel claustrophobic when trying to design on his iMac at home. but we got pell grants and laura got a scholarship, and we've been good kids this summer, so we decided that we could invest in a new computer. the 24" iMac is big and beautiful and fast -- so it's a great design computer. but wait, there's more! apple does a special computer+iPod deal before each school year for students and this year's deal was a free iPod touch. austin was nearly as excited about the iPod touch as he was about the new computer. and wait, there's more! we also got a free canon printer! wow!

anyway, we're excited about our new computer. mostly austin since he'll be the one using it most of the time, but laura's excited about it too -- plus, she gets the old iMac at her desk. it's still a great computer for anyone who's not a spoiled designer. we're excited to have two computers in our little study so we can work on projects and papers and what not at home with each other rather than staying late on campus.
