my austin

Hello family and friends! This is actually Laura, writing my first entry on our blog. Austin is at his little brother's football game, and I stayed home this time to finalize one of my papers that's due tomorrow. But before I dive into my research, I couldn't resist the opportunity to post a little blog about the love of my life. austin.

Austin never ceases to amaze me with his everyday sweet acts of love. He is the most thoughtful boy I've ever known! Growing up, people would always tell me I was so thoughtful. But I'm nothing in comparison to this boy! (Which makes things tough when it's time for gifts and presents. He always thinks up the perfect thing for me and I sit and struggle with knowing what to do for him!) From leaving flowers for me at work, to sending sweet text messages, to writing songs for me, his list of kind surprises never ends!

This last weekend I was really stressed out with school. It was a busy weekend and I kinda broke down Sunday night--just feeling like i was struggling with finding the right balance of being a wife, daughter, sister, student, employee, etc... But with Austin around, who can feel sad for long?! With a loving shoulder to cry on, he is the greatest comforter and listener. And then, his silly voices and fun personality come out -- you can't help but laugh and forget about your woes!

But back to the story. On Monday, when Austin picked me up from my evening class, he had the cutest little grin on his face. He proceeded to inform me that since we'd been unable to go on our weekly date last Friday, we would have date night tonight! Nothing in the world sounded better at that moment than an evening out with my dear husband. He treated us to a delicious dinner at Macaroni Grill. Then, upon returning home, I discovered that he had left class/work early that afternoon to clean the whole house, fold laundry, organize our study, and write the sweetest letter to me. What an amazing surprise! He is so selfless and willing to give of his time to help someone in need--I have so much to learn from him! This is just one of the many acts of kindness he has done for me since I've known him. Yes, indeed, I am one lucky girl. Thank you austin, for being the amazing husband and person that you are.

i heart austin
