Time to take a little break from the baby updates to catch up on our blog.

We think spring is finally here. But if this year is any indication, we're not ruling out snow until July.
Jenna and Carter visited for a while over Easter weekend.
We visited Austin's grandma up in Pleasant View and had a wonderful Easter dinner.
Carter wasted no time getting used to the basketball game in the basement. And he has better shooting mechanics than most junior high kids. It's fun to watch.
We took a break from Cartermania and went to the game with Braden and Scott. It was a fun atmosphere but not a fun game since RSL lost the championship. Laura was a good sport to go on her birthday!
We made pizza at our place one night and Carter enjoyed watching Austin do Wii bowling.
"Again? Again?"
More recently (last weekend) Lori invited us to her awesome pizza and bowling birthday party. Laura was the bowling champion... again. Wii bowling didn't help Austin's game at all.
Mother's Day was a day of fine dining that began with Austin's early breakfast for Laura -- stuffed french toast and eggs.
We took over dinner at the Taylor's house and decided to celebrate Mother's day with cuisine from... Mother Russia.
We had (clockwise from top) borscht, piroshki, and chicken Kiev. Borscht is a traditional Russian/Ukrainian soup made with beets, cabbage, potato, carrots, onion, and tomato. We kept it to just veggies since we had a chicken dish. Piroshki are a fried, stuffed roll. We went with a traditional filling of mashed potatoes. Chicken Kiev is more of a gourmet dish which is fried chicken cooked with a center of herb butter. It turned out great and we were really excited about making Russian food for the first time together.
We were also excited to celebrate Mother's day together and were anxiously awaiting the news we would get the next day at the ultrasound.

The first thing we did after the ultrasound on Monday was go to Target and pick out some cute baby clothes. We used these to tell the baby girl news to family on video chat.
We're having a great spring. We like sunny weather and spring rain!

Austin you have a little mirrow following you around. He name is Carter and he looks and acts so much like you at that age. Thanks for making time to come for Easter. Loved having so much family here. That's a Grandma's dream. Looking forward to the wonderful event in your (our) lives.
