hospital part 2: visitors, etc

Here's a little yawn for all of you who have gotten bored waiting for new photos.

Brooklyn got some visitors while we were at the hospital. Her first visitors were Grandpa Syd and Grandma Carolyn -- who actually volunteer at the Timpanogos hospital every week.

Breanna came to visit her favorite (only) niece.

Laura's side of the family was represented too as her aunt Susan and cousins Annie and Carrie stopped by to visit -- they live super close and were very excited to see Brooklyn.

Carly, Laura's good friend from college, stopped by and had a good visit -- keep your eyes open for some cute photos that Carly took of Brooklyn!

We also had Austin's cousin Amanda and aunt Jenny and her two new twin boys come visit, but between a very poopy diaper from one of the boys, a BYU football game, and some depressing news about Brooklyn's temperature regulation (it ended up okay!), we didn't get the camera out. :(

Laura looked great -- after only a day or two the nurses couldn't believe she just had a baby.

Austin's daddy instincts kicked right in and he loves holding his little Brookies.

We love being a family of three!

We think this is the first smile -- even if it was coincidence -- that we have record of. :)

This was our home for a few days -- while it wasn't very comfy physically, the nurses really took care of Laura and the baby.

Austin has told people that he realized coming into this that not all newborns are born cute and cuddly and that they have to grow into that sometimes. Well, we lucked out.

Laura and the baby both got cleared to leave the hospital on the same day despite some initial concerns about Laura's recovery and Brooklyn's blood sugar and temperature regulation. They both were troopers and were fine by Saturday to come home.

Brooklyn was a little smaller than we were planning on, so Daddy surprised her and Mom with a cute new outfit to go home in.

She did not like the car seat...

...until she zonked out seconds later.

We were very excited to take this little girl home!

The car seat isn't going to get any lighter from here on out.

And finally here's our little "Brookie burrito" in her pack'n'play. She's a keeper.

Next time we'll show you how Brooklyn was spoiled to have both of her grandmas come visit. :)
