blueberries

Yesterday we wanted to get outside and do something fun. We ended up deciding to go to a local blueberry farm to pick some berries for ice cream or a parfait.

We put Brooklyn in a sun hat and we were ready to go.

There were a few other people out picking berries, but the field was deceptively large -- we felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Brooklyn was a little bit of a grumpster now and then -- it was a long day for her (and for us, long story -- let's just say that picking blueberries was "Plan B" of our Saturday adventure).

Laura helped B try a blueberry -- she's not into sour fruits just yet.

It was a great day to get out and get some sun.

Even though she didn't care for the taste of the berries...

...Brooklyn got excited about helping us pick them.

Laura had some of the berries last night and we're thinking maybe a smoothie or some ice cream for a Sunday night treat... yum. :)

Looks like a fun outing! If you want Brooklyn to enjoy blueberries, try Beech Nut brand Pears & Blueberries. It's a stage 3 in a tall jar. Yummy! Unlike most Gerber fruit blends where you rarely can identify anything beyond the main fruit, you can distinctly taste both fruits in this. I could eat a whole jar myself. But I haven't. Yet.
