california is a good place to be in february

we took a quick trip to california last weekend for two important family events. first was emily's (laura's sister) baptism, and we got a bonus with jon's (laura's brother) eagle scout court of honor. each event would have been hard to miss, so when laura's family planned them for the same weekend, there was absolutely no way we could resist. oh, and we'll take 70+ degree weather in february whenever we can.

we flew into the long beach airport (on the way down at least) and austin was surprised how small the airport was. he thought it felt more like a bus station. but it was warm and they got our bag (that's right, we both packed into one suitcase) off the plane very quick so we loved it. laura's dad was kind enough to stay in long beach after work to pick us up and drive us home.

we took a cute picture laying on the grass outside the church after helping set up for jon's eagle court of honor.

emily looks very cute in her baptism dress. she also had a blue dress that she wore after her baptism (since she wore the white one to be baptized) that her grandmother made. it was also very cute.

after emily's baptism, we had a little party with friends and family, and then it was time for jon's eagle court of honor. they had a great program and there were nothing but the best things said about jon and his accomplishments.

we had a great weekend with family! the only thing bad about it was that we had to come home so soon. but we're excited to see laura's family in april for graduation and we'll probably find ourselves in california again sometime this summer as well.

Yay! That's really great that you got to make a trip out there for those special family moments. Good work on documenting them with the photos too!

(I'm just a little jealous about the 70+ degree weather right now - it's all I can dream about)
