a few things we've been up to lately

austin's band played earlier this month at one of the music venues in provo. despite the fact that three of the four members were fighting colds and/or sinus infections, they were well enough to give those who attended a healthy dose of rock. austin is in the middle rocking with his guitar that "santa" brought (see our previous post for details).


we've enjoyed watching braden's football games the past several years, and we got an extra treat this winter as braden decided to try out for the provo high freshman basketball team -- and made it. although he didn't see a lot of playing time we enjoyed supporting his team, who only lost one game all year and won the tournament they competed in at the end of the season.


we also were happy to support braden as he received his eagle scout award last night. he did an awesome project and got all the necessary merit badges to get the important scouting honor, and his mom and dad put together a very nice program for his court of honor.

hmmm, what else have we been up to?

we're both still working, austin at byu broadcasting and laura at the uvu bookstore. we feel like both jobs are just kind of temporary until we find something more long-term. since things appear to be looking up in the job market, austin has started applying to some design studios slowly but surely and hopes to line up something here in the next couple of months.

we've enjoyed watching the byu basketball team and have gone to several of the home games. we're very excited to watch the last two home games this week, both of which should be exciting.

and speaking of basketball, austin is coaching the young men in the ward again this year and will start sending out applications to high school and college teams if the design stuff doesn't work out because his young men are 6-0. it must be his coaching, never mind that several of the players could easily be playing varsity basketball if they wanted.

in other news, laura beat austin in two of our three yahtzee games tonight.
