we're still here

Yes, we're still here. We've just been so busy watching/coaching/playing in basketball games that we'll take all the rest we can get on Sundays (the day we often blog together).

A few photos to illustrate some highlights (we've been bad about taking photos too!):

Austin got some tickets to the BYU-Utah game up at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake via his work. The photo is blurry since we used the front camera of Austin's iPhone (better for video chat than it is for taking photos apparently).

We were expecting a fun game and a BYU win, but we had no clue we were in for a huge treat as we watched Jimmer light up Utah for 32 points in the first half (pictured above on the right in the photo we took of the scoreboard during halftime) and 47 points for the game (two shy of his record set at Arizona last year).

The highlight of the night was Jimmer's shot from half court to end the first half (not our video, but a great clip -- notice the crowd chanting Jimmer's name and their reaction after the shot).

It was a great game and our seats were great -- right in the middle of all the Utah donors and faculty. Not only was it fun being in "enemy territory" but it was fun watching the Utah fans who couldn't help but at least smile as Jimmer put on an amazing performance.

We had Austin's family come over -- usually we're the ones visiting them -- for a little Wii party. The favorite games were the sword slice game and the three point contest.

More basketball. We were very very excited for the BYU-SDSU game in Provo -- an amazing matchup of two top ten teams. Austin and his dad both agreed that Jimmer and this game were as big of a deal as anything we've seen in Provo since Ty Detmer and BYU beat #1 Miami in 1990. It has been a great season. Laura points out that we've been going to BYU basketball games ever since we first got married and are definitely not fans who jumped on the bandwagon as soon as Jimmer got big this year. :)

Check out one of our favorite moments from this game (again, notice the crowd reaction).

We've enjoyed having Braden and Scott go with us to the games this year and we'll miss them next year. Why will we miss them, you ask?

Because Scott (aka Dad) just got called as a mission president, so he and Cheryl and Braden will be heading down to Phoenix for three years. We'll miss them a lot but since both of us served missions, we are very excited for the experiences they'll get to have. We're also excited they'll be very close (relatively speaking -- it could have been Argentina or Chile) and half a day away.

Austin just finished up a big project at work -- doesn't get much bigger than rebranding an entire company and doing it in just several months rather than a year or two. This video gives an idea of the scope of the project and the many applications (there are many more not shown here!) that are involved.

That's some of the stuff that's kept us busy since Christmas. As things start to feel a little more normal with basketball winding down and giant company rebrands finishing up, we'll try not to be strangers to our blog!
