brooklyn's birthday, part 1

Laura had the great idea of sneaking in and putting a bunch of balloons on Brooklyn's floor so that she would immediately know it was a special day when she woke up. Mission accomplished.

She had a blast when we got her out of her crib.

She is super cute when she is still a little sleepy in the morning.

Then we opened the door and let her come out into the living room where her presents from friends and family were on the couch...

...and more balloons were up...

...with birthday decorations.

Austin showed Brooklyn a video slideshow he made for her the night before (see our post a few days ago if you want to download it!) and she loved it -- she was quiet and watching intently the whole time and even smiled for some of the photos. It was pretty adorable.

We brought the balloons out to the living room and made it party central.

Birthday photoshoot time? Brooklyn is not impressed.

"Okay, I will look adorable if you insist."

Can't have too many Brooklyn-looking-over-the-edge-of-the-couch photos.

She has discovered the light switch above the couch in her room. Uh oh.

We managed to coax some smiles out with balloons and stuffed toys.

Also never going out of style: Brooklyn "uh oh" photos.

Someone still loves snuggles with Teddy Bear.

Our favorite part of birthday photos was when she noticed the flowers on her new shirt. Very cute!
