We had a great time with Laura's family in California -- we were especially happy to see Brooklyn interact with everyone and learn everyone's name by the time we left!
A few days after Christmas it was time to head to Phoenix to see Austin's family for New Year's. We didn't think she'd get her own seat on any of our flights since they were over holidays but we lucked out on this one!
B was a little shy with Grandma and Braden at first -- so many family members to keep track of!
But it didn't take long at all for her to feel right at home. And she knew just what to do with the Christmas presents that were waiting for her!
As if her excitement about the basketball wasn't a big enough hint...
...the fact that she was thrilled with new Nike shoes cements the fact that she's directly related to Austin.
Oh, more presents? :)
She loves hair bows and she loves kitties -- this is the best of both worlds!
Brooklyn loved reading books with Grandma.
As has become a tradition of sorts, we went to the Phoenix Zoo. We decided that because (a) we'd taken plenty of animal photos last time and (b) our memory card was starting to fill up that we'd take more photos of us than animals.
Brooklyn was definitely more interested in the zoo this time around. (Last time she was only three months old -- what a big girl now at 15 months!)
We did a few things we didn't last time. There was a "monkey village" that we walked through -- a path surrounded by trees and lots of cute little squirrel monkeys.
Brooklyn loved pointing whenever she saw one.
Why isn't she pointing at this one though? :D (j/k Braden -- from your big bwudda)
She was actually big enough to fit in the stroller this time! (see last year's post linked above to compare)
She also loved seeing the lion and tiger.
We got a much better photo of the tiger this time.
Another area of the park we'd never been to was a farm area with more common animals.
Brooklyn loved seeing all these familiar animals with Grandma -- and making all the animal noises she knew!
Her favorites were the chickens.
No, the tags on the cow's ears don't say 'sold to the Taylor family.'
Brooklyn enjoyed hanging out with Grandpa and looking at noisy birds on the way out of the zoo.
After the zoo we stopped by a great taco truck that is owned and run by some church members that Austin's parents know.
Grandpa and B are excited for tasty authentic Mexican tacos!
Tasty and authentic they were indeed. Muy bueno.

What a fun trip! In that close-up of Laura, she looks like a model. So pretty!
What wonderful memories! Seems so long ago now in our strange Mission World! We love that you take time for us even when we have a hard time focusing on you! WE LOVE YOU!
