late july/early august

Brooklyn had a rough first couple months learning to share attention, but she has always been very sweet and happy with her little brother.

Late July they started playing together. Well, in the same room, anyway.

One way we tried to give Brooklyn extra attention was to do "projects." One of these was making peanut butter cookies...

...with sprinkles on top. Of course.

Here's another "project" Brooklyn did one morning. Austin proudly showed it off to some design friends while lamenting that his daughter's "experimental typography" piece showed more creativity than anything he'd done in weeks.

The weather up here in the summer is great -- perfect for walks on the river trail. Here's B on the bridge that goes over one of the city streets.

The weather up here in the summer is also perfect for playing guitar outside -- Austin went to visit a friend's house and snapped this quick photo before playing. Now on the wish list whenever we get a house: a porch or deck suitable for relaxing summer acoustic jams.

Right? (He doesn't really suck his thumb anymore, but it was adorable while it lasted.)
