april stuff

We are catching up on our blog THIS WEEK. For reals. Meanwhile, back in April, this little guy turned 10 months old.

We colored some Easter eggs. Austin tried doing all the dye colors and ended up with that dinosaur-looking one in the front left.

The Easter Bunny comes on Saturday at our house. Evan was pretty excited about the whole Easter Egg thing. We the Easter Bunny color coded the eggs -- Evan's had little rice puffs or yogurt melts inside, while Brooklyn's were the real deal with candy inside.

Brooklyn was excited to read a book from her Easter basket.

This was one of the more obvious hiding spots.

Evan's were a bit more within his reach -- doesn't mean he always found them though :D

We watched General Conference and apparently Evan was really into whatever President Eyring was saying.

Even though we didn't have regular church meetings on Easter Sunday due to conference, we still needed to get the kiddos together for an Easter picture.

Laura made an amazing Easter dinner. We tried an interesting way of preparing the ham that was a winner. It was kind of like honey-baked ham meets tender pulled pork and it was very tasty. Everything else was good too (particularly the cheesy potatoes).

We're pretty sure Brooklyn was never this messy.

Sidewalk chalk! Brooklyn went through a phase where she was really interested in clocks.

Hopscotch.

This little guy loves the swings. :D

Combine Brooklyn's tendency to create "piles" of various things and a dislike of her little brother getting into said things and you get a "picnic" on top of her dresser.

We had some neighbors move in for a little while this spring. We had noticed robins out in the yard a lot and finally figured out they had built a nest right outside our front window next to the porch.

We went to the Seattle Children's Museum one Saturday and had a lot of fun going between all the different themes.

Evan is definitely a Daddy's boy -- he was loving the Legos.

We think this was Evan's first trip to the Space Needle.

Once trailers for the new Star Wars movie started coming out, Austin caught the fever and put together the X-wing he'd gotten for Christmas -- with a little help from this junior builder.

Buddies at the beach!

Picnic might not have been the best word to describe Brooklyn's hiding of her toys from Evan -- because this is how Brooklyn does a picnic.

Laura got this balloon for free at the grocery store and it was a big hit with the kiddos. It lasted for two months and probably could have gone one or two more.

The beautiful blue eggs in the nest turned into fuzzy, not-as-beautiful baby birds. They got bigger and  bigger and less ugly and finally left the nest one by one. We were constantly keeping track of them from the window and the porch (whenever the parents would allow us near, anyway) -- we miss our springtime friends!

We celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary a day early with a quick trip to the Seattle Temple...

...and dinner together at a local Puerto Rican restaurant. Yum.

The day after our anniversary is Laura's birthday and Austin kicked it off with French toast.

The balloons have become something of a family tradition.

The kids had a fun time with all the balloons.

One of the things Laura wanted for her birthday was a planter for our front porch.

She got some other presents...

...and had some pretty good helpers!

Beep beep! This special shopping cart is a hot item and the Taylors finally got their turn.

Remember how we said that if she had famous parents that Brooklyn would be a global fashion icon? Here's further proof.

For sure, celeb little ones have got nothin' on Brooklyn!

Also loving the picnics. We get all kinds of piles of things at our house, times two. I love the activity...until it's time to clean up. :)
