march oregon coast trip

Since Austin's birthday was on a Monday this year, we decided to make it a long weekend and go down to the Oregon Coast. On the way we stopped in to see the other (the original) Washington Taylors for lunch -- Mitch and Jen and Megan and Rusty and Olive and Rosie and Jessica and Cody! The girls especially have fun when we get together.

They even remembered Austin's birthday was coming up and had cupcakes and candles all ready to go! It really meant a lot to us and it was fun to celebrate with family.

You may have to click on this one to see it larger to see why we couldn't resist taking this photo. Clever.

We got to the coast before sunset, with perfect weather and a cool breeze. Excellent.

We got a blanket out and enjoyed being next to the ocean.

This was Evan's first time to a beach, so we were curious to see how he'd do.

He loved it -- he was much more adventurous from the start than his sister was at his age!

In fact, she had a tough time keeping up with him!

This little guy has nothing against getting a little messy.

Yum.

Austin says he was taking "selfies" over 10 years ago with film cameras so he's been there and done that, but it was too nice of a setting not to indulge a little. Lens flare!

Kisses.

Buddies.

On a clear evening, this is the view from the place we like to stay. Not bad.

Austin wandered back out to the beach to get some shots. This was one of our favorites.

The beautiful weather didn't show up the next morning -- it was cold and wet.

But that didn't keep our smiles from showing up!

It's not everyone's idea of a beach vacation but we love it!

The weather cleared up and we went down the promenade to get something to eat on the main street.

Brooklyn was very excited to wear her "sea shelf" shirt.

She was also excited to get an ice cream cone with lots of sprinkles.

Laura had brought decorations for Austin's birthday -- it was fun to celebrate in our favorite little family vacation spot.

:)

These kiddos love being on vacation with their mommy!

This was one of Austin's favorite photos he got all weekend.

Pretty cute.

We love this place!

Daddy had a great birthday with his kiddos.

Brooklyn wanted to take some sand from Oregon home in a little bottle.

We had a great weekend and loved being together in a place that's become an Austin and Laura Taylor family tradition over the last three years. Now Brooklyn always talks about going to Oregon and how it's far away but close enough to drive -- which means she's always wanting to go back :)
