early july stuff

This little guy loves to swing!

Brooklyn did a week-long dance camp with a fun Disney-themed recital at the end. She did great!

It was "Ferrari day" at the Redmond car show so we went to go check it out.

Our friends had a birthday barbecue that we counted as our Fourth of July (even though it was a couple days earlier). We did manage to have some tasty treats at home that day though.

The Friday after the 4th of July was Bring Your Kid to Work day at Microsoft -- complete with special employee badges for the kiddos!

Brooklyn got to do some cool "designs" on the computer with Daddy, walk around the visitors center and several other parts of campus, and she even got to try her very first cotton candy! The rest of the family met up there for lunch and we had a fun time.

The next big thing in July was Redmond's city celebration called Derby Days. We went to the fire station for a pancake breakfast where the kiddos got to sit in a real fire truck!

Brooklyn got to shoot water out of a real fire hose!

And the kiddos got to dress up in real fireman clothes! Pretty cute.

We went and found a great spot to watch the Derby Days parade.

Mommy-daughter selfie!

While we were waiting for the parade to start, we figured it was a good time to get our ferris wheel ride in.

Brooklyn remembered how brave she was last year and couldn't wait to go again!

Parade time!

Brooklyn and Daddy went back to watch the Derby Days fireworks in the evening. Brooklyn said she liked it even though we have photographic proof that may have not been the case the entire time :)

This boy loves to swing like a big kid!

We went to see a concert at the local senior center -- it was a Beatles cover band. The kids loved it and Daddy tried not to be too critical :D

The kiddos got something to play with that came in a big box -- a "balance bike" -- and ended up getting more mileage out of the big box :D
