We'd been promising Jenna that we'd make a trip out to the East Coast for a while and we decided that we'd better do it! Any surprise that Evan was glued to the windows at the airport?
Seems like we usually fly south from Seattle, whether going to Utah or California, so we got a pretty view of the Cascades that we don't normally get.
The cousins were happy to be together -- what a treat!
They had a blast playing and laughing and reading together.
Brooklyn behind the wheel.
Evan loved the t-ball/baseball stuff so much that we made a note to get him one when we got home.
Cars!
Snack buddies! Jenna and Ty have a huge yard with lots of fun stuff to play with and around.
We took a trip out to an old lighthouse before going to...
...the beach! Super cute cousin photo! Adorable baby Klay! Scrunchy-face Evan!
Family photo next to the Atlantic ocean!
Austin and Klay.
One of the days we went to Six Flags in New Jersey, where they have a safari ride with lots of free-roaming animals.
Well, the safe ones roam a little more free than the non-safe ones, anyway. Grrrr.
Yakkity-yak.
Carousel!
Airplane ride!
Austin and Carter on a big-kid/grown-up ride! Whoa!
Spinning ride!
Take-you-up-high-and-drop-you ride! We had fun at Six Flags -- there were a lot of cool roller coasters there for the more adventurous thrill-seeking types, but we were content to play it more low-key with the kiddos.
We went to watch Bennett and Carter play soccer -- Brooklyn came dressed in her gear too!
Uncle Austin took the three older kids to the Lego Store to each pick out a set. Uncle Austin nearly left with a Lego Ferrari himself but decided he'd exercise some restraint. :D
Batter up!
We had a tasty barbecue outside and barely missed a big windstorm!
Brooklyn loved reading books with Uncle Ty.
We took a train ride into New York City -- it was crazy trying to get on with three grownups, five kids, and two strollers!
We arrived at Penn Station and came outside... right by the Empire State Building!
Times Square -- someone was obviously a little distracted!
M&Ms store! I wonder what color Brooklyn is going to go for.
Group photo!
After a couple subway mishaps (station without working ticket machines, getting on the wrong train, and just general non-stroller-friendliness of the subway system in general) we found ourselves up by the Museum of Natural History next to Central Park.
But first things first. Lunch. Shake Shack. Success.
Triceratops!
Stegosaurus! The kiddos had a great time at the museum.
Yet another photo of Brooklyn behind the wheel of a red convertible sports car. Hmmm.
We had such a great trip visiting Jenna and Ty and their kiddos. It's hard living so far away but it sure makes for a great time when we get together one way or another.
