fun with grandma / end of july stuff

Mackenzie had a very excited big sister waiting for her at home!

Jon and Lindsey came over that evening to meet their one-day-old niece. It was fun to have family over to celebrate our newest member!

The kids loved doing projects with Grandma. Lots of coloring and activities and outings.

It's been tradition for Grandma Self to help with our kiddos' first bath at home.

Just like last time, Brooklyn was a very good helper.

Did we mention Kenzie is a sleepy bug?

She's lucky to have so many people that love her.

When she's not sleepy, Mackenzie has bright, beautiful eyes.

And when she is sleepy, she still looks adorable -- especially in a little cap.

More fun projects with Grandma. This time a painting project.

Brooklyn is very good at painting.

"Swimming" out on the back deck is a favorite activity for the kiddos.

Splash park!

Our local outdoor mall has a fun new splash park and the kiddos liked it a lot.

It felt nice to get cool in the warm July weather.

Sleepy bug.

We were so glad Laura's mom could come visit. Like we said, it was perfect timing -- being able to be there for the kids when Mackenzie was born but still getting as many newborn snuggles as possible during her trip was a blessing. The older kids had a blast playing with her and doing projects and we were so lucky to have her help with meals and bedtimes and everything else.

Brooklyn's friends invited her to go swimming!

Swimming and friends on a hot July day is a great recipe for fun.

The kiddos wanted to help Daddy feed a bottle of milk to the baby. They did a great job.

Evan loved the twisty slide at the playground -- he went over and over and over and over!
