mackenzie gets more visitors

After about a week of being on our own, we got another round of visitors -- Grandma and Grandpa Taylor and Uncle Braden came to see baby Mackenzie!

They brought presents for the kiddos -- some from them, some birthday presents from other family members -- and it was like Christmas in July!

New train book with Grandpa. Choo choo!

Brooklyn had been working on a chore chart for weeks -- daily chores and a special chore on Saturdays -- with a reward being that she could pick any Lego set she wanted after the baby came. She was pretty set on a Star Wars Lego. Despite Daddy nudging her toward the Millennium Falcon, she went with the escape pod that C-3PO and R2-D2 ride in the first movie. She decided she wanted to save it to open until Uncle Braden could help her build it! :)

We went on a little outing to Lake Sammamish -- the water was cold but it was hot outside so it felt great!

One of Brooklyn's best buddies was there with her family too!

Slowly getting used to this family of five thing :)

Brooklyn loves her Uncle Braden and Grandpa Taylor!

We went to the Museum of Flight -- their new pavilion that we just missed out on last time we went was definitely worth coming back for!

The captain has turned on the seat belt sign :)

This was Evan's favorite airplane last time we came, and when Daddy told him it had an 'eagle' on it, he was a little confused -- he started pointing at propellers on airplanes and calling them 'eagles' -- "airplane have a eagle on it!" Daddy helped him learn the real word even though it was adorable.

We had a great time -- Evan is super into airplanes right now, so it probably won't be our last visit of the summer...

Austin and Grandpa and Braden went to a Mariners game, which was a lot of fun, even if we missed out on the Ken Griffey Jr bobbleheads that they gave to people that came early. We went early, but apparently not early enough :( At least they didn't run out of garlic fries.

Meanwhile Grandma was helping the kiddos with a project...

...custom glow-in-the-dark T-shirts!

Evan is obsessed with every kind of ball -- basketball, football, baseball, soccer ball, and tennis ball (which Grandma had to do custom since there wasn't a stencil!). On the back he wanted his favorite letters -- W, X, Y, and Z.

Austin and the kiddos tagged along with Grandma and Grandpa to meet one of their former missionaries and her husband and baby for brunch. Next to the cafe there was a park with a giant chess board!

Sleepy Mackenzie loved to get some Grandpa snuggles...

...and some Braden snuggles.

Mackenzie also got a beautiful present from our family friend Dana -- a beautiful dark pink quilt that Grandma and Brooklyn happened to match perfectly with for a photo!

Speaking of photos, we tried to take some quick family photos after church on Sunday. Evan is a handsome little guy -- rocking the suspenders from Aunt Jenna!

By some small miracle we managed to get a photo of everyone smiling!

Taylor family girls!

One morning we went to the "farm park" with Grandma and Braden.

One of the roosters was out and wanted to say hi to us.

Braden and Evan went to go see the cows.

We went on a "hike" on one of the short trails. The kids loved it.

Bath time with Grandma Taylor! This time not a sleepy bug.

Art projects with Grandpa!

Matching colors! And matching shirts for the two kiddos!

We loved having Grandma and Grandpa and Braden come visit. It was a perfect mix of going and doing fun things and being at home. They were helpful and the kids loved playing with them and being silly with Grandpa. We were incredibly lucky to have so much family time!
