august visitors, part 3 (the zoo and a waterfall)

Going to the zoo was kind of a tradition when we would visit Grandma and Grandpa in Phoenix, so we decided it would be fun to go here in Seattle. And it was only fitting that it was Evan's first time since Brooklyn's first trip to the zoo was with Grandma and Grandpa too!

Here's something they don't have at the zoo in Phoenix -- penguins! This penguin loved showing off for Brooklyn.

We saw some bears...

...and moose...

...and a beautiful jaguar. (And lots of other animals.)

Brooklyn loved being silly with Grandpa.

And she was very brave to go on a horse that goes up and down on the carousel.

We briefly walked through a rose garden next to the zoo on our way out...

...and then someone zonked out for the drive home.

One of the last things we did was go to Snoqualmie Falls. It was a beautiful day and a nice little trip we could do in the morning before Grandma and Grandpa had to leave later in the evening.

We had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa (aka Mom and Dad aka Scott and Cheryl)! We had been waiting very patiently to show them our home and the beautiful area we live in and we're so glad we finally got to do it.

We know we were lucky to get to see them since their mission was so close, but now that they're finished we're glad they get to see more of their kids and grandkids. We can't wait until they come visit again! :)
