early october stuff + california trip part 1

Look at this guy growing up so fast!

Laura took him to the park while Brooklyn was at a friend's house -- he doesn't get the one-on-one time B got at this age so it was a special treat!

We watched conference -- some of us from a closer viewing distance than others.

We saw a woodpecker out on a walk in our neighborhood.

We get a kick out of Brooklyn's writing -- both how she writes and what she writes.

It started getting rainy so we got the raincoats and boots out.

Leaves were starting to fall too. So we decided to go to California :)

We met up with Laura's high school friend Sivhour for lunch -- last time we saw her, this little guy was a few days away from being born!

We were happy she could take some time to see us!

After lunch we went with Laura's mom and Emily and David to the beach.

The water was actually pretty nice -- Mom and Dad were wishing they'd brought swimsuits too!

We loved spending the day with family :)

...and now David has a little buddy too!

Being at the beach in California in the fall brings back memories of Austin's first visit to meet Laura's family for Thanksgiving when we were dating!

The next day we had fun playing -- from tea parties...

...to blocks...

...to the trampoline! We had a great time with Laura's side of the family -- short and sweet but we'll take what we can get!

Then we drove down to Anaheim with Austin's parents and Breanna -- they were going to come visit us in October but we suggested we all meet up in California instead.
